This organization was created to answer a need in our community. College students rarely get the opportunity to learn the ecology of the place where they study. They need the opportunity to network with professionals to be inspired and learn about various paths, even circuitous ones.  Employers want students to have experience in research, communication, and critical thinking.  The future of our planet depends on having knowledgeable and aware critical thinkers in leadership positions.  Conservation Pathways answers this need by providing experiences to students, especially those typically underserved in the conservation community, that will help them better understand their career and college choices and increase their scientific knowledge. But most importantly, these students are not static. They move to other communities in other regions and states. These experiences and skills are spreading beyond our Capital City.
